A World Without Danger

Aelita smiled at him. "Thanks. Its good to be back!"

"So, now that we're done with Lyoko for a while, how about we show Aelita around?" Ulrich asked smiling.

"Yeah! And let's start with the cafeteria!" Odd suggested.

The others groaned.

"Come on Odd, can't you go a little bit longer without lunch?" Yumi asked.

"Of course not! If I don't eat now I might starve to death!" Odd whimpered back.

"Yeah....because a few hours is really going to make you starve..." Kione added.

"But it's been months!" Odd replied, half smirking. "I'm surprised I'm not dead yet!"

((And now comes the awkward period, where I have to RP mostly as Jeremie until I come up with another plot for XANA. XD))

Jeremie returned Aelita's smile and listened to his friends make plans. And then he came up with another problem they had to deal with. He decided he'd bring it up later. After all, it wasn't anything world-shattering. But eventually, they'd have to make plans for Aelita's entrance into Kadic Academy, and into real life.

"Believe it or not, I have to agree with Odd on this one," Jeremie said. "I'm a little hungry myself."

"Yes!" Odd shouted.

"Alright, well I guess that sounds good." Ulrich replied.

"Hey, how come when I suggest something its a terrible idea, but when Jeremie does its a wonderful one?" Odd accused Ulrich.

"He's the genius," Ulrich replied, lightly elbowing Odd in a joking manner.

"Well Aelita, I guess the first thing you'll officially experience is food!" Yumi smiled.

"You'll love it just as much as I do!" Odd replied with a wink.

"Well if we're going we'd better hurry." Kione replied. "Because dinner's going to be over soon."

Odd nodded and practically sprinted to the elevator.

Within ten minutes, the entire Lyoko group made it back to the cafeteria. Jeremie remained alert, making sure no authority figures noticed Aelita. If a student asked, he would just tell them she was Odd's cousin and was staying in town for a few months. Of course, no one knew what had happened to Aelita after the Scyphazoa finished with her memory. No one knew she had been on Earth before.

The rest of the gang knew what to say as well in case someone asked. They had gone over it in their walk from the factory.

As soon as they stepped into the cafeteria Odd sniffed the air. "Ah! Smell that? Lasagna! My favorite!"

Aelita took a deep breath in as well. "Mmm...I like that smell!"

"Come on then, let's go get some." Odd suggested. The small group made their way in line. Odd, of course, tried to finagle extra helpings from Rosa who refused to budge.

"No Odd! The school can't afford to feed you extra portions all of the time!" she scolded as she pushed him along.

The group found a spot at the table and sat down. Aelita sat for a moment and watched the others as they ate. She followed their lead and couldn't believe the taste. "This is so good!"

"And this is just nasty cafeteria food," Yumi commented.

"Yeah you should really taste the home made stuff. That's some good stuff!" Ulrich agreed.

The group chattered on as Jim made his rounds. He stopped at the Lyoko gang's table and stopped, looking directly at Aelita.

"Well who is this?" he asked.

"My cousin!" Odd stepped in. "She's visiting for little bit...her parents are, uh, thinking about enrolling her here and they wanted me to show her around first."

"Did you clear this with Mr. Delmas?" Jim asked.

"Not yet, be we're going to." Yumi added in.

((...Ya know what this RP has been missing? Sissy and her minions. ))

Jeremie sat silently eating his lunch, letting his friends take care of Jim.

Across the cafeteria, however, Sissy was watching them with her usual air of superiority.

"Who's the girl with pink hair?" Nicholas wondered aloud.

"I don't know," Sissy responded, "but I don't like her. It's bad enough I let Kione join their little group. This time, I'm putting my foot down." She pulled out her cellphone and hit a button for speed dial. "Hi, Daddy! How are things? Listen, there's a new girl here. You can't miss the pink hair. But I don't think she's Kadic material. I've heard the strangest things about her..."

((Dun dun DUN. Some good old-fashioned non-computer related drama. =D))

Jim finally left the group to their lunch when his cell phone rang. "Geeze, well I guess we'd better hurry up and finished. Wouldn't want General Jim to report us and get in trouble."

"No problem," Odd replied with his mouth full. "Hey anyone have any leftovers?"

"No!" came Ulrich, Yumi, and Kione's voices. Their lunch trays were still half full.

Without much warning Jim suddenly reappeared. "I have orders from Mr. Delmas for you all to head over to his office. He wants to speak with you all immediately concerning your friend here."

The group groaned.

Sissy smirked. "Come on, boys. I don't wanna miss this." After Jim led Jeremie's group away, she followed them to the principal's office.

"What's this about, Jim?" Jeremie asked, trying not to let worry seep into his voice. "Aelita's only been here for thirty minutes. Why would Mr. Delmas ask about her?"

((So, I'm assuming here that you control Jim... but do you also wanna play Mr. Delmas? I think it sets up an interesting power structure, but then I think about things way too much. ^^))

((Yeah I'll play Delmas. He and Jim together could prove to be an interesting duo... lol XD ))

"I don't know," Jim replied. "Mr. Delmas didn't say. But I'm sure it has something to do with your new friend here."

Aelita looked around at the group. "Sorry if I caused some kind of trouble..."

"Don't worry," Yumi replied as they sat down in front of the office, waiting for Mr. Delmas. "We've been in trouble hundreds of times. Whatever this is, it won't be a big deal."

The office door opened and Mr. Delmas appeared in front of the student. "Alright, everyone come in."

The group obeyed and sat down in front of him.

"I've been made aware of your friend's presence here. You know visitors are supposed to be cleared before they come here." Mr. Delmas started.

Thinking quickly (or at regular speed, from his perspective), Jeremie came up with an answer. "Well you see, sir, she arrived on short notice, and her parents trusted Odd to find a place for her to stay. We took her to the cafeteria first because she hadn't eaten anything since breakfast, but we were going to come and introduce her to you afterward."

For a second, Sissy feared that Jeremie's story would work. But after considering the rumor she started, she realized she'd have nothing to worry about. Her father would hardly tolerate a pyromaniac in his school.

"I see," Mr. Delmas said stroking his chin. Kione saw that he was churning something over in his mind and she knew instantly that something else was going on. She had seen that look plenty of times since she broke away from her creator.

"Unfortunately I've heard some stories around campus and from some reliable sources that Miss, uh -"

"Stones," Aelita filled in her last name before anyone else had the chance to speak up. Odd was surprised that she had come up with one so quickly.

"Thank. I've heard that Miss Stones has some, well, concerning obsessions." Mr. Delmas replied.

"What do you mean, Mr. Delmas?" Yumi asked, wondering how any kind of rumors had spread so quickly.

"I will have to deny Miss Stone's visit simply because of the safety of the other students,"

"Mr. Delmas, what are you talking about?" Ulrich pipped up as the others looked at each other in confusion.

"Miss Stone's obsession with fire," Mr. Delmas finally explained. "I can't have a pyromaniac here at my school."

[Corencio]

Jeremie didn't handle the surprise well. "What!?" he exclaimed. "That isn't--- she doesn't--- WHAT reliable sources!?" He realized too late that acting outrageous would probably hurt Aelita's chances even more. He forced himself to calm down and stared at his feet. He had a sneaking suspicion that he knew where the rumor had started.

Outside, Sissy snickered at Jeremie's outburst. "Perfect," she whispered. Nick and Herv exchanged satisfied looks.

Mr. Delmas looked sharply at Jeremie. "Mr. Belpois, I will not tolerate another outburst like that again!"

"Excuse me, Mr. Delmas, but I'm Aelita's cousin and I've known her my entire life," Odd started. "She's never shown any interest in fires!"

"All the same Della Robbia," Jim started. "We can't have a girl like that around!"

"But she's not like that!" Odd fired back.

Aelita looked at the angry faces in the room. She had never meant to cause all this trouble. "Excuse me, Mr. Delmas," she started suddenly. "I don't know who started these rumors but Odd's right. I'm not like that. And should you judge me based on some rumors that you've heard around the school?"

Yumi smiled. "She's right Mr. Delmas. You know how we kids can be sometimes. We like to talk about something until it gets blow way out of proportion. Can't Aelita stay on a trial basis for now? You can keep an eye on her but not judge a book by her cover."

Mr. Delmas seemed to sit back a moment in consideration. "Hmm..."

Jeremie looked up at Mr. Delmas hopefully.

Sissy, on the other hand, began to worry. "No no no... they can't do that!" she hissed. Herv put a hand on her shoulder to calm her down. She glared at him and he withdrew.

"It's fine," Herv whispered. "Even if they convince your father, he'll be keeping an eye on them. It'll only take one slip-up to get her out."

"But they're perfect!" Sissy complained. "They're not going to slip up!"

Herv smirked. "No... but we can certainly fake it." Sissy finally caught on and shared his smirk.

"Well...I guess you are right." Mr. Delmas admitted. "That isn't fair of me to do such a thing. However, like I said I will be keeping an eye on things. Any slip-ups and I will have to reconsider my offer."

Yumi smiled at him. "No need to worry about that sir."

"I hope not. Now you may go," Mr. Delmas dismissed them. The group stood and walked out of the door.

Once out of the principal's office Ulrich turned and looked at the group. "Aelita? A pyromaniac? How on earth did that get spread around so fast? She hasn't even been here for an hour yet!"
